About Skotfoss Brug

From its inception in 1892 and well into the 20th century, Skotfoss mill was Europe's largest and most modern paper mill.

A number of different paper products were produced, from newsprint which was exported to the USA, and to the New York Times newspaper, to wrapping paper, book paper, etc.

And

Skotfoss Bruk can also boast of having had the Nordic region's first electric railway, which King Oskar 2 had on his visit to Skotfoss Bruk (see separate photo).

It has been reproduced that King Oscar II had been impressed by the railway and the new factories that had been built.
